- It appears some people who live on the island are tired of the constant criticism of their neighborhood
- OAP Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi has come to their defence
- She also had some choice words for those who live on the mainland
The recent flood that happened in parts of Lagos especially on the island because of constant rainfall elicited various responses from Nigerians.
Majority mercilessly mocked people who stay in Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikoyi, and Victoria Garden City (areas popularly referred to as the Island) mainly because of the high cost of living in such areas.
Tired of the bashing those who stay on the island had received, popular on air personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi took to her Snapchat account to list reasons why people prefer to stay on the Island.
She also said those who stay on the mainland (Ikeja, Oshodi, Festac, Ikorodu, Magodo etc.) are only suffering from inferiority complex.
