Think about it, the Nigerian entertainment industry is undergoing a renaissance of some sorts. Our music, arts and music are enjoying worldwide attention more than they used to in previous times.
What exactly is responsible for this is another article in itself. Perhaps it will be written very soon. But one cannot deny that the talents in the entertainment industry have upped their game and this article aims to celebrate a few of them.
1. Lota Chukwu
Before she hit the limelight, Lota was just another model who wanted to make it on the big screen. She eventually did so thanks to Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifa where she plays the role of Kiki. The Agricultural Economics and Extension graduate has also starred in films such as The Arbitration, Fine Girl, Iyore, and Wind Chasers.
2. Olayode Juliana (Toyo Baby)
If there is anyone who owes her rise to fame to Funke Akindele than anyone, its Juliana. Its sad that both have fallen out but Fans of Jenifa will always remember Toyo Baby!
3. Maryam Charles
The least known of the lot, Maryam’s drive is what gets her on this list. She also doubles as a producer whose latest film On Time would be hitting cinemas soon. She is also said to be dating a wealthy America based socialite.
4. Regina Daniels
Rumor has it that she is 16 or 17 years old but until she presents her birth certificate to the world, her age would always come under question. An active user of social media (especially Instagram), she has starred in films such as Python Girl, The Bat-Man, The Jericho, Plantain Girl, Jaja The Great and many others. There are several unconfirmed reports where she claimed to have earned N500,000 for a role. With her youth and good looks, Regina will be around for a long time.
