Former military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida will on Friday, May 12 gives out the hand of one of his daughters in marriage in Minna, Niger state.

IBB who recently returned from Germany where he went to seek medical attention is marrying out his last daughter Halimat on Friday, May 12.

Legit.ng gathered that Halimat will be getting married to businessman, Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi who is the traditional title holder of Sarkin Sudan Gombe.

The strictly by invitation wedding starts with a wedding prayers to be held at the Hilltop Villa of the former military president in Minna by 2.30 pm. After which a reception will hold at the Justice Legbo kutigi conference center while spill over reception will hold at the bride’s late mum school, the El Amin School, and IBB’s residence for the exclusive guests.

Halimat is the second daughter and last child of the family. She was born by late former first lady, Hajia Maryam Babangida, during the time IBB was the military president of Nigeria between August 1985 and 1991.

Security has been beefed up towards the wedding ceremony as the commissioner of police Zubairu Mu’azu claimed to have deployed 4000 policemen while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger says it will deploy no fewer than 135 personnel to provide security before and during the wedding fatiha.

Meanwhile, barely 24 hours after President Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida and General Abdulsalami Abubakar met at Babangida’s hilltop residence on May 2, to discuss the state of the nation, ailing President Muhammadu Buhari surfaced in his office.
