We need to be very careful in Nollywood – Iya Rainbow

- The number of actors who have died as a result of one ailment or another in Nollywood is becoming a cause for concern

- Reacting to this sad news, Iya Rainbow a veteran actress has said Nollywood practitioners need to turn to God.

The death of Mr Adeshina Adesanya aka Pastor Ajidara is still eliciting reactions from his colleagues in Nollywood. Legit.ng earlier brought you details of how some his colleagues handled the news of his death with many lamenting that he would sorely be missed.

Mrs Idowu Philips aka Iya Rainbow while speaking at a recent event in Lagos said there is a need for actors and other stakeholders in Nollywood to be prayerful so as to avert more deaths in the industry.

“It’s sad that Pastor Ajidara has passed on. We all need to be careful and be filled with prayers,” Iya Rainbow said.

Iya Rainbow hails from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State in Nigeria. Her stage name Iya Rainbow stems from Osumare (meaning Rainbow in English), the name of the theatre group of her late husband, who died in 1990. She was a certified nurse in General hospitals in Nigeria for several years. She joined acting fully when her husband died and she has featured in several Nigerian films including Apaadi, Eru, and Aje ni iya mi and many others.
