- EFCC has invited comedian Bovi to its office
- The comedian asked the anti-graft agency to spend part of the money recovered and he was asked to come for his share
- Bovi congratulated EFCC on its 14th anniversary
Comedian Bovi just got invited to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) offices by the handler of the agency's Twitter account.
Bovi was invited thanks to a post he shared about the anti-graft agency's birthday. The agency had tweeted that it will be celebrating its 14th birthday on Thursday, April 14.
In response, Bovi tweeted: "Happy birthday EFCC, Invite us for drinks. For once spend. Not every time, recover!"
As usual the EFCC’s Twitter handler had an apt comeback. They wrote:
But at this point, Bovi lost his nerve. Scared to be caught in the anti-graft agency's office, he asked instead that he be directed to a neutral place.

The agency has been on a loot recovering spree. NAIJ.com had reported that the EFCC carried out a sting operation on Wednesday, April 12, resulting in the recovery of huge sum of cash in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The huge cash was in naira, dollars and pounds and bankers were employed with their machines to help with the counting and the total amount was put at $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m. This was possible because of the whistle-blowers’ initiative by the agency.
EFCC was established in 2003 by the Obasanjo administration in response to pressure from the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), which named Nigeria as one of 23 countries non-cooperative in the international community's efforts to fight money laundering.
