Issuing dud cheque is a punishable offence with a jail term of two years and Omo Baba Olowo singer Davido has allegedly been caught to have issued one.
The Aiye singer has been accused of issuing dud cheques to an auto dealer Anekwu Chika Valentine.
The said cheque was given as the balance of payment for a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 the singer purchased earlier from Prestige Autonet Limited owned by Valentine.
NAIJ.com saw the photos of the alleged dud cheque and also letter written by the car lot owner authorizing a Lagos based law firm W.K Shittu and co to assist him in recovering his money.
Part of the authorizing letter reads: "On February 10, the musician issued two Zenith Bank (account number 100424****) cheques of N10million and N1.4million respectively. However, the bank failed to honour the latter, which apparently was to pay a part of the N7.4million."
Valentine also agreed to give 10% of the recovered money from Davido to the law firm.
