Born to a Ghanaian father and a Romanian mother, Wanlov describes himself as a Ghanaian-Romanian musician, film director, cultural icon and African Gypsy. His latest video for the song My Toto raised eyebrows for its title which is a pidgin slang for female genitalia and his overly feminine gesticulations. Watch it below:

According to Ghanaian website Yen, Wanlov also named his two kids TV and Radio. Asked why he gave his children such ‘interesting’ names, he answered:

“TV was delivered 10 days after his mum was supposed to give birth so we kept looking inside his mum‘s womb like TV for those 10 days while waiting for him. We said most of the time that we are watching the woman’s womb like TV so it automatically, it became his name after he was born. I told TV’s mother that the next child will be named Radio as soon as she told me that she was pregnant again, so that we get TV and Radio in our family.”

Both Wanlov and Bobrisky regularly wear women's clothing and also use makeup.

Wanlov’s feminine dance moves in the video for My Toto has drawn comparisons to Nigeria’s own Bobrisky. Both have been seen wearing women’s clothing and from time to time a full face of makeup. One thing sets them apart though, Bobrisky is not a musician but the moment he decides to release a song, he can look to Wanlov for inspiration.
