But for providence, Nollywood actress Ini Edo would have been dead.
The word every disappointment is a blessing is just what save the actress who is also a special adviser to Akwa Ibom state governor’s life as she had planned attending the bishopric consecration of Apostle Akan Weeks of the Reigners Bible Church on Saturday, December, 10, 2016.
Edo took to her Instagram page on Sunday, December 11, to explain her miraculous escape. She explained how her flight was cancelled without given her any prior warning thus she had to make it down to Uyo flying en route since Calabar to Uyo is just an hour drive.
Just because God wanted to save her from an impending calamity, she got to Calabar and the drive from Calabar to Uyo took her another seven hours instead of one hour.
Read her miraculous escape as she posted it on her Instagram:
“2 days ago,I was very bitter about the unreliable nature of some of our airlines cancelling flights without prior notice thereby hindering my plans to attend a church service ceremony held in uyo.Now out of determination, I took a flight to calabar with the hope of being in uyo just in time for the service since the journey between calabar and uyo was just about an hour. The journey ended up taking over 7hrs because of an unexplainable traffic. No accident, good road no hitches just a headlock traffic. Whilst in the car, I started wondering why all my efforts to be at the service was being thwarted... then I got a call, that the entire church building had collapsed during the course of the service .... Once again, God had saved me.."
Commiserating with the families of those who lost their lives in the collapsed build the special adviser to Akwa Ibom state governor on tourism wrote:
"My heart goes out to the families of the departed..may the good Lord grant them the heart to bear the loss.
Everyday we see is a blessing..it's not because we are special or better..It's the exceeding Grace of our Lord Jesus.Iam so humbled and grateful to God for preserving me... Happy thanksgiving.....”
Akwa Ibom state governor, Emmanuel Udom, was among the survivor of the collapsed church which claimed almost 200 lives.
The state governor has declared two-day mourning while investigation into the cause of the accident has been announced by the governor.
